Even though I am not surprised by the move, it saddens me that Ford is slashing 30,000+/- jobs in North America. Not because I like Fords, but because layoffs of this magnitude are one of the factors that helped create the low-income inner city neighborhoods that are present in some major cities today (Detroit anyone?). Well, at least the entire company did not go bankrupt (yet).
