So today while browsing through the endless list of files and folders on my computer, I came across a backup of a blackplanet.com page I had a few years ago. Sorry, no link is available as I closed that account years ago.

Anyway, the backup contained what I believe is, if memory serves me correctly, my very first blog. It was dated July 29th, 2001. Wow! I had no idea I had been posting online for that long. You would think that after all that time I would be better at this, but nope. Anyway, since I found the blog I figured I would post it here for all to read. As a FYI, it’s completely unedited, so prepare yourself for some bad language/grammar. Enjoy.

First off, I have no problem with people who smoke cigarettes. After all, it is their lungs/life and they should be able to do with it whatever they want. Now that my little disclaimer is out of the way … My complaint about smokers is simply this. Why do they think that just because they like cigarettes, that you like cigarettes. Seriously, people will get into my car and ask can they smoke in it. Ummmmmm NO! I don`t smoke, so what makes you think that I`m going to let you ruin the smell of my interior by puffing away in the back seat??? I`ll be more than glad to pull over and let you hop on outside my car and puff away all you want, but inside the car (or house for that matter), it`s just not going to happen. Oh, and speaking of houses, why is it that when you try and be curtious (Iunderstand it`s an addiction and sometimes you just have to) and let people smoke on your balcony, they want to leavethe door crackedopened? What are they thinking? You mean you want to let the smoke inside my house at the same time you let the heat out? You obviously didn`t understand the point of me sending your ass outside in the first place. It`sbecause I DON`T LIKE CIGARETTES!!! Now get your ass outside and shut the door ALL THE WAY on your way out. Another one, why is that at work smokers feellike they are automatically granted more breaks than the rest of us poor souls? You ask them to go run and pick something up. When they finally get back they go “oh, since I was outside, I stopped and had a smoke”. What? You stopped and did what? I didn`t ask you to stop and do anything, I asked you to go pick something up. And if you had to smoke that bad, why is it that you couldn`t smoke and walk at the same time? Does it say somewhere in the rules that you have to stop and smoke with whoever else is outside smoking? You can`t smoke by yourself? Oh , and my all time favorite one is this. You know someone who smokes. You guys are talking and out comes their mouth “let`s go have a smoke”. Who the hell is let`s and what the hell are you thinking? You know I don`t smoke, you know I don`t like smoke, but yet you want me to walk outside and stand in the cold with you while you smoke. HA, not going to happen. People who don`t like snakes don`t go wandering around in the snake pits. If your smoking is more important than our converstion, than get your ass outside and we`ll continue talking when you`re done. Don`t ask me (a non-smoker) to be a victim of your second hand smoke. If I was a drug-dealer or bank-robber I wouldn`t just ask you to come along (I know, kind of a dramatic comparison, but you still get the idea) so we can keep the convo going. So to all my smokers out there, get it together. It`s your habbit, notours. We are not the ones who are smoking on cancer sticks, so we shouldn`t haveto be subjected to it. That`s it, I`m outta this biaatch!!! Bring on the hate mail.
