So, yesterday was rather disappointing. Why was yesterday disappointing you ask? Oh, what is the story about yesterday you ask? Well, if you ask, I must tell, so here is the lowdown. Minor moons ago, I purchased some pants (three pairs of pants to be exact) at the late great Bon Marche. Now I am rather short, so it is nearly impossible for me to get pants in the correct length. What does this mean? Well, it means that I always have to pay an extra few dollars to get my pants hemmed to an appropriate length. Nothing real disappointing about that, it is just one of the many benefits of being closely related to little-people. Now normally I would give my pants to my tailor, because she is damn good. However, her goodness is located all the way down in Tacoma, and, well, I just could not wait that long to get some pants done.
Anyway, so yesterday I go and pick up my pants (all three pairs of them) from the dry-cleaner down the street from my house. To be more specific, it is the dry cleaners located across the street from Fred Meyers on Lakeway, and next to the Cost Cutters (also on Lakeway). Anyway, I get pay the lady the $25 and some change it cost to hem the three pair of pants, get home, take a quick glance at the hem job, and get the bitter beer face from the disgustingly lackluster job.
Now, I am no tailor or anything, but I am blind. Therefore, when I can see the hem from more than a few feet away, I am pretty confident that it is a lackluster job. I mean seriously, there is no reason on the planet why I should be able to see the hem in my pants period. But to have a blind person see it from further than inside their cornea, that is bad, really, really bad. It is so bad I most likely am going to rip the hem out and have it redone by someone else. So basically I just wasted $25. Grrr, very grrr. So is anyone out there good with a needle and thread? I am now taking applications.
