While browsing the net today I came across both an informative, yet nerve-racking, link. I know everyone knows about sex offenders and their reentry into society, and most even know that their information is made public (we have all seen the posters on walls and such). Well, while browsing the net I came across a link to an FBI website which lists a bunch of sex offenders within the US. I do not usually post such stuff, as it is rather depressing, but I figure something like this is a good item for folks to have in their bookmarks. Anyway, check your area out (especially if you are planning on purchasing a house), just please do not become one of those overly-paranoid crazy folks (those are irritating).
Oh, and I must admit that I am rather surprised by the sheer number of entries for areas that I have lived in. I knew there was 'some' sex offenders, but I had no idea there was 'so many' sex offenders. I hate to say it, but I personally do not think they should get re-entry (in the manner which they do). I know people who have done longer sentences for mediocre (or in my opinion mediocre) crimes compared to violating a child’s innocence. But then, that is just my opinion.
