Wow, so I am clicking through the news today (you have to
love online news feeds) only to come across a story about The Game, the Compton
based rapper who has had more than a fair share of conflict since his arrival
on the Hip-Hop scene. Anyway, it appears that The Game has been hit with a
$280M lawsuit. No, that is not a typo; the lawsuit is actually $280M. To me,
that seems like an insanely large amount of money, especially considering the facts
of the case. It just amazes me how ridiculous lawsuits are getting in the US. I am sure
some situations can cause $280M worth of damage, but a punch or two and a few
bad words, definitely do not add up to $280M, no matter what kind of math you
use. Oh well, I am sure he has a G-G-G-Good Lawyyeerrr!!
More seriously though, I think this lawsuit is just foolish. Well,
maybe not the lawsuit, but the amount of money being asked for as
compensation for damages sustained. I guess for people who cannot get
rich on their own, acquiring someone else's assets through a lawsuit is
the next best thing.
