So I was browsing the internet today as I usually do and
came across an article bashing Microsoft. I know that does not sound
interesting, as you can go to just about any website and within six clicks,
find an article that complains about some aspect of Microsoft. However, the
part I found interesting about this article was that it had nothing to do with
Microsoft as a business, but instead, Microsoft as a political figure. Yes, you
did read that correctly. Microsoft is not only an insanely large and powerful software
corporation, but apparently, is now a political figurehead that people can turn
and point the finger at. Interesting huh?
The article in question discusses how some folks are extremely upset at Microsoft for their stance on gay rights. So upset in fact, that they are actually pushing
for Microsoft to return an award it had received from the gay community in
acknowledgement of its stance on gay and lesbian personnel in the workforce. I
find this ironic, as Microsoft has been one of the leaders in promoting the employment,
acknowledgement, and fair treatment of minorities, whether it be blacks, gays, foreigners,
or others.
Anyway, I just thought the article was interesting so I
figured I would let you fine folks see it. I would go into depth about my
opinion on the subject, but, I am extremely tired and have to wake up early and
do the “professional” thing (again).
